As some of you may know, I am the Treasurer of Florida Romance Writers and we are hosting a huge conference in Feb 23rd - 25th in Miami. If that was not enough excitement for me, I am also on the conference committee. So that makes me one busy, busy girl.
But I am looking forward to meeting the editors and agents on my own turf. I usually fly to another City/State to pitch my lastest manuscript.
I must say that I have enjoyed conversing with one editor in particular. At first it was about conference info and itinerary's, but then I found that this editor and I got along very well and we continued to email short notes to each other.
It is funny how a person can make a connection with another solely due to typed words on a computer screen. I like to think that I judge a person's character not by what they look like or even what they say... but by the feel of their energy.
Perhaps a computer screen can pass a person's unique energy through the endless wires called cyberspace. Either way, it is nice to know there are people in the publishing industry that are down to earth and really friendly. Just like me.
