Conference Hangover

Yes, I have the RT convention hang-over. Where your suitcase sits unopened filled with dirty clothes and romance novels, and you walk around with sore feet and aching muscles. Not to mention that your face hurts from the giddy overload of smiling at the male models and friendly like-minded authors. It goes to show that when a group of women who are usually isolated in their homes/offices for months at a time get out of their creative abode, they go WILD!

The hotel did not know what hit them when 1000 rowdy women descended on their once quiet lobby everyday for almost a week. Male patrons of the hotel would step out of the elevator and almost fall to their knees with gratitude at the sight of all the women.

I love this conference and have attended five RT's in a row. But this year was a little different. This year I was a published author and found out how very busy a girl can be when promoting her first novel. (Yes, I am referring to myself in the third person. Why? I don't know. But, hey, I am going with it.)

So, normally, I am torn between attending a multitude of classes, socializing with good friends, going to editor appointments, stalking promo alley (author giveaways) and grabbing a chance to sit down and rest before the parties begin that go well into the early hours of the morning.

This year, I had all the above including promoting my book where I would stack the promo alley basket (I have pens!) and sit in RT Club where Resplendence Publishing was being promoted. (Love those girls). Yes, I am adding a lot of brackets. Why? I don't know, but hey, I am going with it. ;0)

I thoroughly enjoyed being on the other side of the table and in the process I bonded with my editors, or as I now referred to them as the sisterhood.

I also have a big announcement, but you will have to wait until tomorrow to read my blog. Or if you are reading this in the future, then just scroll down to the next blog. Not as exciting as waiting a full day, but hey, I am going with it. LOL
